I have never heard it mentioned here.

CanuckIts been ripped on here before. Assuming you are referring to the A-bolt Medallion (I can't remember if that nomenclature was used for the Belgian FN Brownings), I recall such comments as "PF trash", "pot metal crap", etc, etc. Not a lot of Browning fans here, just a few diehards.
I don't mind 'em at all, but they're not my favorite.

My .375 Wby is an A-Bolt Stainless Stalker. I had the chance at a beautiful Medallion as a donor gun. I just thought it would make for not much more than an expensive safe queen. The Stalker is much more abuser-friendly. Just don't try to kill DG with one. It won't work.

Pancho, I believe his comments were dripping in sarcasm, since his Browning is a dreaded push feed and would likely get him killed if he dared trying to shoot a cape buffalo with it!

500grainsA friend of mine hunted elk with an A-Bolt Medallion. It shot a 6 inch group out of the box, but that shrunk to 3/4" when bedded. One day he got a dab of mud on the bolt. It jammed/bound up the gun to a ridiculous extent. We had to go back to the truck and work on it with a toothbrush to get the gun running again.
Mauser actions have proven themselves reliable in all conditions including trench warfare. So I would prefer a Mauser. But if someone wants to use an A-Bolt, by all means have at it.

Well, guys, IF someone were to give me a Browning FN action Medallion Grade rifle in .375 H&H, I'd take it and be happy. An Olympian would be too much, but even a Safari grade would be sweet. Those old Brownings and their FN cousins were/are sweet rifles, it's too bad that pure Mauser actions seemed to go out of style.

kayakerI believe Kevin Robertson (Doctari) has used an A-Bolt .375 quite extensively in Zim on buffalo.
A German friend in BC has used one in .30-06 as his 'mooze' rifle for years, and he is not one to baby any pice of gear!

trapmonkeythey aren't that bad.....!
they may be push feed, but the ones that i've used 300wsm, 22-250 and 300wm has been really good critter killers. Even saw a 375 that was very nicely turned out although it had a ....wait for it!.... boss muzzle brake on the end!
I believe in in the claw extractor(mine is a cz in 416 rig) or the double for dgr, but if borrowing wouldn't care what make the rifle was as long as it feeds and shoots straight.
mind you i've only been on 6 pg hunts now and am revving up for my first buffalo

SnellstromHey Trapmonkey, my brother has an A-Bolt in .375 exactly as you described it! It is the only BOSS equipped rifle I ever saw with factory open sights. His shoots extremely accurate and withstood 12 days of solid rain and constant drenching last Moose trip we were on in Alaska and somehow it continues to hold up.
