I think I would take an m98 and a nice piece of wood and build one for half that.
$550 (Used Super Express, like new)
$300 Parts
$700 Labor
Grand total $1550. The pillar bedding dropped the magazine box a bit in the front so that the box easily holds 3 rounds and then there is one up the spout. I would trust Kevin Jenkins' work any day over a commercial custom shop.
Now if Gerard will ever get those bullets to me, I will work up some loads.
BTW, my barrel is 26" long. 2400 fps with a 500 grain bullet should be workable.

God Bless America!
The cross section is the big plus, not the velocity, but if I gotta get hammered that hard, I might just opt for a 505 Gibbs or 500 Jefferys...I'm curious why the above proven knowledgable gents did not???? Just curious.

My .470 Capstick doesn't kick too hard at all, even with the brake removed. I think it weighs about 11.75lbs., so recoil is around 74ft.-lbs.

Shoot straight, shoot often, but by all means, use enough gun!
