Sorry to repeat such a horror, but I imagine that someone thought they had made their rifle "pretty". It kind of reminds me of the folks who are sadly mistaken as to their singing talent and try compete on "American Idol". I think the shop that is selling it doesn't think much of the rifle 'cause they didn't even try to secure the scope caps. Half--heartedly selling it on consignment for a "regular", perhaps?

Sheds a very different light on the word "custom rifle" IMHO.

I wonder if I offered to send him a sporter stock for free if he would be willing to film that one being burned and post the video for us???

I'm pretty sure the value goes up quite a bit with the right size scope covers!

I sent a nice message to the seller suggesting that they part it out, sent a link to a nice one that sold here in un-modified condition for 900. I suggested that if parting it out didn't sound good they put an inexpensive stock from Midway on it.

I bet I get all kinds of flak from the seller. at least I was polite and didn't once make fun of that stock. Whoever built the gun to begin with should have their eyes cleaned with comet cleanser.

oh yeah, this rifle was NIB when the owner had it "Improved". He actually paid over $200 for the stockwork!

I saw a quilted maple stock made by Harry Lawson once..,one of those rollover montecarlo thumbhole stocks he put out with the whiteline spacers, ventilated recoil pad and rosewood 45-degree for- end and chisel point grip cap and the weatherby copied inlays. This, however, may have it beat.

this gun has a terminal case of crossboltitis for which there is no known cure.the "evil eye" just behind the pg on left is a nice touch though.buyer pays shipping??owner should pay to get that out of his house before a nice gun is afflicted with the same malady!

i saw that guy pick his gun up from the stock shop. man was he pissed. apparently he ordered the pink polka dotted model and the yahoo in the back used the yellow dots. thats why they are selling it so cheap. they just wanted to break even.

Okay, guys, lets lighten up here a bit. I understand the seller is providing a paper bag for the buyer at no extra cost. This rifle has character: yes a real "character" would need to be the buyer; provides self-reliance as no one would lift a finger to help the buyer if a bus was coming there way; the rifle would build self-esteem and would go along with the buyers wearing of his pink panties and finally the rifle would require a sterile person to own therefore protecting us from a future mutants.

I thought they eradicated measles years ago.

You have a reputation as a seller, in any business. this is the kind of thing that could go a long way to hurting your image.

In defense of Boise Gun (ie the seller) I have to say they are a true class act. While I was deployed to Iraq they worked with me to purchase a rifle from them on lay away for far longer than the normal 90 days. They treated me better than I have ever been by any other gun shop. They also went out of their way to do the same for 2 of my soldiers. Like any gun shop they are going to get abominations in at times just because that is part of doing business. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer bunch to deal with.

Think of it this way: shooting that rifle is like fooling around with an ugly fat chick - it is still fun and feels good - but who wants to be seen with it??????

But it's CRF... I assumed with this crowd ALL else would be overlooked.
