Speer MagTip
I am going to start loading for my CZ soon and picked up some Speer 350gr bullets and was wondering if anyone has used them and has any load recommendations?

mstarlingNice "mild" practice load is 98 gr of IMR 4350. Velocity is over 2700 fps. Same recoil characteristics as the 350 gr Barnes X load I've used on Gemsbock, Hartebeast, Bison, and Cape Buffalo.
This bullet is not sturdy at these velocities

but is a great practice bullet.

ShortandFatGot to back up Mike on this one
I'm sure if you run this projectile much quicker than 2400 fps it will be outside of the manufactures performance tolerence on the bullet
It will be devistating on thin skin game but if the bullet doesn't work well don't complain, that must be anticipated

DoglegThe Speers were the only lower cost practice bullet I could find locally. My practice load is 98 grains of RL22 in the Norma case. Velocity is 2450 fps. I haven't shot anything except paper, dirt lumps and rocks with this bullet so have no idea what they do when hunting.

mstarlingI also have a .416 Aagaard which is a .376 Steyr necked up to .416" and improved. Should be getting about 2300 fps with this weight bullet. I ask the question about this bullet "how does it perform on North American game and several fellas replied that it did great. I assumed they meant at much more reasonable velocities produced by the .376/.400.
Going to try it this fall. Sure hope they're right as this bullet is reasonably priced and very accurate.
I appreciate the replies, thanks. I picked up these bullets because they where inexpensive and most likely just going to plink with them. I have some RL22 and H4831 that should work ok.

p dog shooterI shoot them out of my 415 taylor @ 2450 the largest thing I shot with them was a 490 lb blk bear. It worked very well.
