BigBrass.375 H&H: 285-grain Speer Grandslam performance?
I am getting good accuracy at the range with handloads using 285-grain Speer Grandslam bullets in my .375 H&H. I haven't hunted with them yet, and would greatly appreciate any information you could provide about terminal performance on game in that caliber.

SnowwolfeWhat animals are you planning to shoot and at what range?

Kyler HamannI used them for a while because someone gave me a bunch of them. My .375 at the time didn't care much for them and the groups were only marginally acceptable.
The terminal performance on game was impressive. I never used them on DG but the ones I recovered from pigs were well mushroomed and retained a respectable percentage of their weight. None ever came apart.
Hope that helps,
Kyler

BigBrassSnowwolfe: I would propose use this bullet on large wild pigs and on elk. Ranges could be anywhere from 75 to 300 yards. If I eventually book a hunt for brown bear, I would like to consider using it for that as well; but since I have never hunted with Grandslam bullets, I am not sure whether they would be appropriate for that in terms of terminal performance on game.
Kyler: Thanks for your post; it was helpful.

schromfI don't hunt elk with my 375H&H. I could but its overly heavy for me to pack around. I have seen and helped clean elk shoot with these they are a good choice in bullets on that class of game.
My Winchester shoots these just fine, I get a little better accuracy with 300 Gr bullets but a 1/4 MOA amounts to nothing on a 375.
