Best recoil pad?
I want to replace the stock pad that came on my Mossberg 12g with something better.I figure since the BB forum and recoil go together you guys would know best which pad to buy.

I like the Pachmayr Decelerator and F990 models.

I used Limbsaver, and couldn't be happier.

Kick-ezze is the best I have found. I use them on all of my big bore rifles. (Such as, .460 and 416 Weatherby, 416 Rgby and .458 Lott.) as well as my trap guns.

I do not worry about the recoil pad when standing and shooting. On the bench I use a sand
bag over my shoulder a thin one.

RIP
1. Kickeez tend to crumble, lose chunks of toe-heel-side-edges with use, too delicate, have to freeze them to grind to fit.

2. Limbsaver good in latest rubber, early ones tended to melt in gun safe.

3. Pachmayr Decelerator 1" thick is prettiest and most durable, and good recoil dampener: best overall function.

4. Pachmayr F990 1.5" thick is not pretty, but it is best recoil reducer of all and more durable than Kickeez.

I tend to need to add 1/2" to 1" to most factory guns, so just use a slip-on pad over the factory pad.
Newest Pachmayr Decelerator and LimbSaver are the best rubber pad slip-ons,
but I do love the Pachmayr (and Galco, etc.) leather-and-velcro-fastening slip-ons.

I have a Ruger No.1 500 A-Square with a Bell&Carlson fiberglass stock that had ony a 13" LOP!
I added a Limbsaver rubber slip-on to that, then strapped tight a large Galco leather slip-on over that. hilbily
