They/only have 195 boxes left in stock. That is a real buy for The Federal Cape Shock. Normally 302/box of 20. Now only 99.99 per box.

I knew this time had to come. With hornady's offering of about $125 a box I knew that had to be taking a big dent out of Federal's sales. I think the woody is a better bullet than hornady's own soft. But not $200 a box better.

Yep, Hornady is putting the screws to the expensive Federal big bore ammo and their 470's run about 105/box vs Federals 220-300/box. Capitalism at it's best....competition.

I'm glad the prices of the larger stuff are coming down! Hornady is eating Federal out of the market. Good job Hornady!

You might be able to load them for $20/box, after you pay $150 for the dies, $25 for the SH and another $4 per pc of brass.....it adds up very quickly for a cartridge you might shoot 20-30 cartridges/year. I bought 3 boxes for $300 and that will last me awhile. You can barely get the new cases for that price much less the whole cartridge. When the cases are empty I can pay the $150 for the dies w/o paying the $4 per case.

Or send the cases to Larry at Superior and have him load 'em up for you. I do that with several calibers I don't shoot that often. As you said, if you have the cases, you're way more than halfway there, cost-wise.

20-30 cartridges / year?? Eeker I shoot that amount in my 500NE at least every month!! Every week for the last 6 weeks before Safari!

It is a good price however. Good source of brass. Now if they would just offer it in 500NE!
