Glen71Big bore cartridge resource?
I am pretty new to this forum (usually hang out in Gunsmithing) and not familiar with many of the cartridges discussed here. I am looking for a resource with information, specifications, dimensions, etc. for DGR cartridges. I am particularly interested in those that are practical in a standard 98 Mauser. The 404J is currently a contender, but want to see what else is available. Is there such a book or site?

Mike375Cartidges of the World would probably bea good starting point.
A few that come to mind for Mauser 98
375 H&H
375 Weatherby
400 H&H
416 Remington
404 Jeffery
458 Win
458 Lott
500 Jeffery
and basically any wildcat where the overall loaded length does not exceed 3.6", that is, 375 H&H length.
The 416 Rigby has also been done on M98. In fact there is an original 416 Rigby on an M98 for sale in Australia at the moment. Original in that it was made just before the Rigby name transferred to America.

ScottSA Square's reloading manual, "Any Shot You Want" is another excellent source of big bore lore.
