Re: Have a cartridge for huge Borchardt Action.
Karl--No I don't.I always figured 458 was small bore.
That is why used it in pictures.
I sure would like to see one on a Borchardt.I could set it
up like a 4 bore, about .975 bore, with a rim good for
singles and doubles..Ed.

TC1--If we had a Lahti action, it would be a pussycat.

Take off the sled runners and put on wheels.Even though

full house loads would be 43k ft lbs(2500 gr at 2800 fps), loading to 4 bore levels wouldn't be too bad.Like 2500

gr at 11-1300 fps...Ed.

Considering that I get recoil shy in the .585 to .620 range, that new cartridge design scares the life out of me.

Makes the 458 look like a varmint round. Who volunteers to shoot it first

500--John should have fun building bullets for that.

That should scare the game death.I have a block of steel

to set up a howizer breach. Will get a barrel sometime to

test it.The ultimate belted cartridge.Similiar in size to a

four bore.I can make 4 bores from 20mm brass like I did

this belted case.Does anyone know what exact size a 4 bore

or 4 gauge is supposed to be? I get 3 different sizes from the books...Ed.

So who is going to be the first to build one. How about when Robgunbuilder clones a hairy mammoth and saber tooth tiger, he will have to build some of these.
