I took both my Rugers two the range today to adjust their sights for 100yds perfect offhand bullseye.I had not learn my lesson well from not tightening my sight screws down tight enough and another range session will be required to get the new one shooting.My old Ruger is now shooting perfect bullseye offhand.I was really happy with the way I got it shooting.]lott100yds-1 ]VIDEO-2 Here is my target.The tight shooting new rifle started to group really well but high untill the sight screw let go.The shots in the black circle are from my old er Ruger with the larger groups.[URL= ]a[/URL]

I must say that you do a nice job in the first video of recharging your rifle from the shoulder.

How come you have so many screws loose?

Keep up the standing offhand practice.
Do you also practice from other (kneeling, sitting, prone...) field positions?

Do you have a inch-pound torque wrench?
It's good to be consistent with stock bolt / action screw torque.

Thanks surestrike. I was a bit slower in the one video because of trying hard to aim my shots.I was sighting in that rifle and also needed some warming up before a steady hold. Tyler-because I am shooting a Lott. a.tinkerer-no I don't practice from other positions.I do have a torque wrench with flat head pieces that I use to tighten both sight screws and the other srews.I don't always use it to get the same torque in my screws but to get some leverage in tightening.I bought a Brownells screwdriver that should do the same thing.I feel it's very important to use loctite.I am convinced that without loctite the lott is not accurate.

How bad is the throat erosion on the rifle in the videos?

Yes, I guess I let go of the grip, after the recoil, so I can work the bolt.I am shooting at the black circle or target #2 at 100yds.There is another target to the right of it,that is not seen in the vid.Scott,do you practice shooting offhand too?

Not as much as I used to, and not as much as I probably should (then again I don't shoot as much period as I used to just don't seem to have the time). I use sticks more now, or shoot from a kneeling position.
