Not one of Garys, but I have built a .475 no. 2 Jeffery and a .505 Gibbs, both are a blast to shoot.(Sort of.)

I will ask Gary if he makes a 475 No. 2

First Stop Dakota in Rapid City SD has (or had) 2 in stock...a 475 GNR and a 505 Gibbs. Mark prices his used rifles quite fairly...these are about $1,500 or less if I remember.

His rifles are every bit as nice as his handguns. I have several custom rifles and many, as in dozens of his custom revolvers. As for the "scrathins"...to each his own. I have some without it and many with it. I happen to like it as it sets the gun apart visually from any other. I have NEVER had a single person I showed my guns to find it to be ugly.

Yes, to each his own. I find that it ruins what might be a decent build.

I have a Ruger No.1 in .500 Nitro that Hamilton Bowen built for me probably 20 years ago. It's a beautiful rifle, but for me, at least, it's got about all the recoil I would ever want.

I have a CZ 458 lott. That rifle shoots real tight groups and it doesn't hurt shoulder.

It is extremely ugly laser etching. I have handled 6 of his single action revolvers and all 6 were slow in timing.

At least he is 100 percent

The ONLY reason that I ever owned a Reader number 1. Is that I got it cheap, and ubfired (45-70) I sold it unfired, Reader's gold washed lettering, made it look like a PIMP's gun. Seems like I remember some ugly ingraving too. Not to my taste. Otherwise it was a nice #1 JMHO
