Since you brought it up, what is this sear kit? How many parts are in the kit or is it just the sear. Is offered through mail order.

I put one in my 1895M and it works great. Drops right in, no fitting required. Trigger is now nice and crisp and no annoying wobble. Worth the money.

I bought it from Midway. It went in just like any other trigger in the 95 Marlin. What a difference it made. No Marlin wobble! Go to the Marlin Forum and you will find lots of info. My 95SS is a fun gun. Yours will be more fun to shoot with that "trigger job in a sack". Good luck Packrattusnongratus

Dave, FWIW "my" hunting load is still the Remington factory 405 @ 1200, which makes deer fall over very thoroughly BTW. I'm just about ready to start handloading for my Guide Gun. I'll have to see how much of the 45/70's potential I am really interested in. Good hunting! McB

The folks at WWG replied that the gunsmithing skills required are the ability to disassemble/reassemble the rifle and stone the hammer notch if necessary. I am pleased to hear from several of you that the part is essentially a drop-in. I'll let you all know how mine turns out. Good hunting!
