Closing the bolt on a chambered round in a CZ 550
I recently posted a question about magazine capacity in CZ 550 Magnums in .416 Rigby and I noticed a few comments which included reference to "one in the hole". I know of the method of closing the bolt with a Mauser type extractor by squeezing the back end of the extractor with the bolt up on a chambered round to allow it to slip over the case head as you close the bolt, but my CZ 550 won't allow this. So, my question is as follows: is it possible to safely modify the extractor to allow the closing of the bolt over a chambered round with the CZ 550?

If you modify a mauser extractor, then you will no longer have a mauser extractor.

Push the center of the rib against the bolt to flex the claw over the rim;

or,

flip open the magazine and put another cartridge in.

You should be able to slam the bolt closed and have the extractor pop over a cartridge head, pseudo push feed, in a hunting situation. If it is used as a bench rest ornament, who cares, but, IMO, for hunting if it can't do that it is either dangerous and/or useless.

Might have to do some polishing, tweeking or whatever to get it done. Get "someone" to fix it if you can't do it yourself.
