Charles_HelmDifferent Take on the .375H&H
The scope is air-rifle rated to take the recoil?30 December 2006, 04:41
ElCaballeroIt is even sighted in! Just take it hunting!
As a general rule people are nuts!

vapodogThe comment on the scope was handed to me a couple years ago when I bought a .177 pellet rifle with a scope.....the salesman told me that (believe it or not) the air rifle had an inverse recoil and that only scopes designed for this could stand up to use on an air rifle....the scope was a POS and I canned it anyway!!!!
The rifle (RWS) shot very well and with authority and accurately with the irons provided.
Anyway air rifle worthy scopes don't mean much to me!!!!!
If I wanted a thumbhole Howa in .375 H&H I'd get that one but bid as though it had no scope.
I see the starting bid is $1,100....it's likely the final bid as well as it's about $500 more than it's worth!

Charles_HelmI now an air rifle has reverse recoil and the scope must be built accordingly, but does that mean it will take real heavy regular recoil?
Of course with that stock and the muzzle brake it should not matter.

In my personal opinion....NO..two different things!
The seller of that gun didn't identify the scope at all....if it was a quality fixture he'd have done so!

djpaintlesThere just isn't a single thing right about that rifle. Saying that 1100 is 500 too much is far to generous IMO.....................DJ
....Remember that this is all supposed to be for fun!..................

onefunzr2He said the forend scratches came from sighting it in. Leaning on what? A cement block?

Yes...however my statement was
assuming that there was a buyer that wanted a thumbhole push feed 375 H&HFor someone that merely wants a powerful big game (not DG) rifle the value is about $250 IMO
It's an action only!!!...even the barrel isn't something I'd want!
