GarBy470 trimmer?
Ok...last post for the evening....the Sugar Bowl is on. I read in "Shooting the British Double" that the Lyman Universal trimmer will hold a 470 case. True? Also, I believe they make a 470 pilot....this seems like the way to go. My RCBS trimmer won't touch a 470...no shell holder, no pilot, no nuthin' according to RCBS via phone. Thoughts, experiences? As always...thanks for keeping the "newbie" double owner informed.

AfricanHunterIf I remember the name right, it's the "big 50" model. On second thought it may be a forester, at any rate check Midway or Mid-South supply, they carry them and they work just fine.

zimbabweI use a Forster trimmer for 470NE. Has a good collet type shell holder and performs very nicely. Got it from Graf I believe.

AtkinsonFor the Nitro Express cartridges where you will be trimming to exact specs in order to crimp equally I would suggest a file trim die as they are much more accurate and they are not expensive...All my N.E. and big bore rounds have a set of File trim dies to go with them.

CanuckI use an RCBS trimmer for my 470 MBogo. A buddy of mine that is a shop teacher made me a trimmer pilot. Can't tell it from the RCBS ones.
Cheers,
Canuck

GarByRay...where are you getting the file trim die for a 470? I've tried all my know sources and they ain't in stock...special order, 90 days minimum. I'd like to have one for use and/or backup to the trimmer. Thanks.
