Coloradoyaler416 Ruger and the 225gr ESP Raptor bullets
I have tried these bullets (.416 raptor with tips with actual weight of 232.2grs) in my 416 Ruger. I am really impressed! I chronographed my loads at 3020fps with no pressure signs at all. Ken from Cutting Edge provided me with the load data. Thanks Ken!I have no problem getting 1 inch groups @ 100yds! Next I am going to try them at 200yds for groups. I do not feel the need to do penetration tests as michael458 has already done a great job of that! Thanks Michael!

pagosawingnutLooks like it ought to do the job quite nicely!
Yes, nice machine and some very appealing ballistics.
I wonder if I could size those down to .411 for use in the 400 Whelen?

ColoradoyalerI tried these bullets at 300 and 400 yards. I'll let the pic speak for them selves. I am very pleased with these bullets!

JCS271Great job, that is quite a conversion you have there. Ever do any recoil comparisons with factory 400gr vs a conventional Ruger bolt gun? Any advice or changes for those considering a conversion like yours?
