ScottS458 Win mag on a VZ24
Is the Vz24 acceptable for such a conversion?
Are the A&B barrels sold by Midwayusa any good?
How the Fajen stocks Midwayusa sells?
Can someone like me do this work himself? I am not a gunsmith, can I get myself into trouble/hurt?
Thanks,
Scott

CedarmtmikeOh yeah!!! I had my 458 built on a 38 turk(large ring, small ring thread thread). A&B barrels are ok, especially in the larger calibers(above 30). Never used one of Midways Fajens, but I would be cautious on a 458. You really need a good piece of straight grained English walnut or a good synthetic because of recoil. And yeah, most could be done by anyone.

MauserYou need to stop playing game if you really want to come "clean" and if you do want to play game please play it smartly without revealing yourself.
Anyhow, the 458 Win. is a relatively short cartridge and should work just fine with the VZ24 and make sure you order a custom box from Blackburn for it. As for an off the shelf barrel, I would go with a LW barrel and you can get one thru Brownells. Don't know much about those "plastic" stocks so can't comment on that.
