Ruger .375 alaskan stock options?
I want to put a nicer stock on a Ruger .375 Alaskan with a hogue stock. I am looking for a nicer looking stock option wood or synthetic at a reasonable price ?

I after much research, put the standard plastic Ruger stock that comes on a typical Ruger .30-06 and such on mine. It cost me about $70 from Brownells, and feels and looks much better. Am in the process of putting a cross bolt in it, behind the recoil lug, bedded in epoxy, and painting it with a camo pattern.
HS-Precision makes a nice looking stock, but they are $360, as do a few other stock makers.
Cheers.

I think you'll find a lot of synthetic options.

Generally wood options will be more expensive than synthetic. Since the Alaskan is a standard long action, you should be able to find some nice used Ruger wood stocks on Gunbroker. People change out stocks all the time so some should be available.

Another option is Accurate Innovations. Depends on what you consider reasonable. They offer beautiful wood options much cheaper than the cost of a custom gun stock. They have a full aluminum bedding system to enhance accuracy. I'm have one built for one of my rifles but they get petty expensive once you start adding options.

I used the same stock as DWright and it is a whole lot better handling. I did not get to bed it yet but it shoots just fine without it. No problem with 1" groups at 100yds. Maybe the set-up don't need bedding since the standard calibers in these stocks don't come bedded. I am, however going to keep the hogue stock on my 416 Alaskan. Just a bit more to hold on to.

You can also use a factory laminate or a Boyd's laminate.
