Me too, because ammo and components may become more available now.
WRT 300 grain velocity, many current shooters of the 1895 .405 have loaded it higher than the factory Hornady 300 grain velocity.
My experience is that it is better to increase killing power with premium bullets such as North Fork. You can do both if needed.
I EXTENDED THE CHAMBER TO ALLOW CRIMPING 400 GRAIN wOODIES AT THE CANNELURE AND SHOOT THES AT 450/400 VELOCITIES (COULD BE HIGHER, BUT NOT NEEDED) AND TOOK CAPE BUFF WITH ONE.

arkypeteI've had Winchester 95, 405 for a while and really enjoyed it. I've never fired a jacketed bullet down the barrel, cast bullets only. Had a couple of molds made by Mountain Molds for 350 grain weight. Plus, found several factory molds molds.
The Mountain mold that engages the forcing cone on closing the action proved accurate.
Most of my loads were with IMR 3031 and IMR 4064.
I've got a Redfield receiver sight for the rifle unfortunately, none of the local gun smiths won't, or can't drill and tap the action. I'm still working with the factory Buckhorn.

GojoeI'm all for a reintroduction of components. I've been lucky in the secondary market, but I'd like to stock up some brass. I was able to get two sets of Hornady dies.
