GeorgeSI see that they come in 1-14" and 1-16" twist. Is one 'better' than the other when using 'standard' weight bullets, say 400-500grs.?
Will a quicker twist help with penetration, as I read here on AR?

HunterJimGeorge,
I copy A-Square in using 10" twist for .458s to keep solids stable in such things as elephant skulls.

NorbertNever use 1:16. This twist was the fault of the .460 Weatherby and the reason for complaints with respect to penetration.
1:14 is the normal manufacturers twist for the .458 WinMag.
For better stability and penetration, esp. with longer monolithics, I use and recommend 1:12 or 1:10.
