ASS_CLOWNI don't know where you are or what powders you can get but here are some loads I have shot with the 450 gr Barnes Original in my 500 AHR (Improved Jeffery):
Barrel length - 26"
Case - Bertram
Primer - CCI 250 or Fed 215
Bullet - 450 grain Barnes Original
118 grains of IMR4350
MV - 2242fps
120 grains of IMR4350
MV - 2270 fps
105 grains of IMR4895
MV - 2260 fps
103 grains of IMR4064
MV - 2213 fps
105 grains of IMR4064
MV - 2249 fps
None of these loads was particularly accurate in my rifle, groups of 4 to 6 inches at 100 yards being normal. The heavier (535gr through 600 gr) Woodleighs shoot much much better (1" to 1.5" being the normal) and kill very well indeed. As I stated earlier these loads were in a 500 AHR, but they should do practically the same thing in your 500 Jeffery. You may want to reduce by 5% and work up, just to be safe. The 500 AHR has about 6% more case capacity than your 500 Jeffery does. However none of the loads I have posted are at all high pressure.
As far as finding data on the web or books goes, I haven't a clue.
Hope you find the information somewhat useful.

El_DodexeOla' Gringo
with my .500 Jeffery I use only Woodleigh bullets (both soft point RN and FMJ RN) 535 grs
Powder Vit N140 105 grs for soft nose and 102 for FMJ
It's very accurate: take a look to pdf attached, 8 shots at 50 meters, the scale are centimeters, the first shoot was the right upper, the others...
Barrel Lothar Walther 56 centimeters, Mac Millian stock and CZ action, muzzle brake, Nikon scope 1,5-4x20
have a great day

gringo_pistoleroYeah, I live in Memphis for now. Hopefully I'll be able to reconcile that before too long and get back to one of the mountain states.
