simple question and deep thought.
How does the big A-square case compare in size to< i.e. 460 weatherby, rigby, gibbs

Now the deep thought as a youth the 30-06 was the perfect rifle. At 21 the 338 win mag could not be beat in my mind and I thought anyone who would shoot the 458 win mag in the states had a few screws loose. Now that I am a little older and have maxed out my 450 watts with 600gr bullets and am ready to move to a larger round I found others asking me if I have a few screws loose. The questions normally start around the hunting table or at work when they see a line of rounds on my desk that most people are afraid of. I found myself saying to myself I am now on of those NUTTS that likes to knock himself off the bench just to see if it hurts yet. WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. Any one every ask themself this question before. I did them went back to shooting and the 06 and 338 have dust on them but not the fun ones.

Now a new question are there any bolt actions factory or custom between the mag lenght and the 50 BMG lenght?

I've often thought that the reason some people like shooting rifles with a lot of recoil is that it feels good when you stop.

Well RNS, the first centerfire rifle I ever had was a 30-30 mod 94, and I remember telling someone at grade school that I had a "BIG BORE" rifle! <<<< SMILE >>>>>

I think we just wear bigger cloths as we grow, and we use bigger rifles as the game grows. The little 30-30, in my mind would have taken down the moon with one shot, but now I have seen Elephant turn, and run with a 580 gr solid in the head, that did not hit the brain, so unless the moon is easier to knock down than an Elephant, I was wrong, those many years ago!

Boats, thats a good comparison to big bores you spend lots of money for them and they sit at home most of the time....

Ray...I've got a better one. Once when I was complaining about the cost of competitive skeet and trap shooting the General Mangager where I work laughed and said you should try sailboat racing. The quote was "It's like standing in a cold shower tearing up $100 bills." He sure one-upped me on that one.

RNS,
Wells Sports Store makes custom actions from the double square bridge Mauser magnum length to 11%, 22% and 44% larger than the magnum length. The 44% handles the .50 BMG and it's derivatives. These are hand made not CNC machined so the customer's needs are easily accommodated. Magazine boxes are made to be cartridge specific.

We don't discriminate against the shorter actions, they are available from the magnum length down to the .22 LR, yes, long rifle, in the double square bridge Mauser style.
