Most Affordable .470 NE
What are some of the most affordable rifles you can get chambered in 470 Nitro Express? i'm planning on getting quite a few firearms right now that will take up most of the money i have to spare on guns for now. But i'm thinking i would like to have a 470 Nitro Express in the future but don't know how much i'll be able to spare on a rifle then. also thinking of the 450 3.25 Nitro Express.

bigdoggy2boreIf you get a descent one, New Sabbatti are $5000.00 from Cabelas. Some shoot great, some not so good. Used Searcy or a field grade Searcyare pretty economical.

Dave, just a 500 NE (true sidelock) and a 9.3x74R (cased sideplates) at the moment. I've never actually shot a 470.
thanks very much for the info guys! i won't be getting this rifle anytime soon because of the 4 or 5 other guns i'm getting for now but this is defintely something i'd like to get sometime down the road. i absolutely love the .470 Nitro Express cartridge and like the .450 3.25'' NE a lot too. at least i have some ideas now about where to get a .470 NE from.

Matt MooreI have dealt with Dale Nygaard...he does everything he can to make buying from him a good experience. He is also honest and will only tell you the truth.
I would do business with him again and Chapuis makes a great product.
Matt
Not my first choice, but I once saw a rebarreled ruger number one in 470 NE.

i would love to have a Ruger No.1 in .470 Nitro Express. it would be a great and amazing thing if Ruger started making factory No.1 rifles chambered in .470 Nitro Express and i would get one just as fast as i could. the .470NE has become one of my very favorite big bore, dangerous game rounds and i would love to have a rifle chambered for it.

bigdoggy2boreObviously a single barrel 470 will be alot cheaper. I have a Ruger # 1 in 500 nitro and it is great. With that action, you can really push the ammo to high velocity's safely. I get 2365 ft/sec with the 570 grain bullets no problem. Barrel is 26" long. The gun shoots great.

Woodrow SI have a Ruger #1 in 470 Nitro and with the 20" barrel including the brake...it is a real blast. It was a complete custom conversion by Reeder. It shoots into the same hole with 500gr Federal Premium Woodleigh Weldcore and 500gr Federal TB solids.

sounds great! can you give me any info on what chambering it was converted from, who did the conversion and how much it costed? now i'm thinking about buying a Ruger No.1 and getting it converted to .470NE.
Get a Ruger # 1 in .458 Lott, under $1000 on Gun Broker and forget the conversion.

fireball168Most affordable - an Encore barrel.
Finding someone reputable to build it the way you want it would be about the only challenge.
