raamwOptimal rate of twist in 375 for 270 grn and hevier bullets
Has anyone ever come across any preference in rate of twist for the 375HH for bullets in the 270 thru 300 grn class?? Is aslower rate better than a faster for the heavier bullets?

TwoSixtyGeneral rule of thumb is to use a faster twist rate for heavier bullets.I have not used anything but 270's and 300's in my 375 it shoots both well.
Most of the barrel makers list 1:12 as standard for the 375.....
Seems like we beat this around long ago, and the consensus was: Don't bother with anything besides 1 in 12" twist. It is fast enough twist for 300 grain monometals and 350 grain lead cored bullets, and does the job on all lighter bullets in a hunting rifle. What special application would require anything different?

MacD371 in 12" twist will handle all the bullets made for the 375 H&H round! A 1 in 11" might be better for the 350 gr bullet now available, but the 1 in 12" will still do for hunting, and that's what a 375 H&H is for!
