CZ-550 Hogback Stock Question

MikeDCZ-550 Hogback Stock Question
Was looking at CZ's at a store and noticed the newer American stock versions have two cross bolts. The hogback versions had no evidence of external cross bolts. Does CZ use internal bolts on their hogbacks or, perhaps, none at all?
Thanks.

RIPThe Lux/Hogback 550 Magnums had one crossbolt behind the tang near the grip. You must have overlooked it if you were looking in the traditional crossbolt locations on a Lux Magnum.
My Hogbacks eventually get the two extra crossbolts in the location that CZ has started installing them in the last year or so, on the American Magnum stocks, routinely.
So, my Hogbacks end up with 3 crossbolts.
The CZ 550 Mediums might have no crossbolts, or like the 550 FS Medium in 9.3x62, might have come with two crossbolts in the customary position fore and aft of the magazine box, and CZ was doing that over 5 years ago.
Go figure.

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}The hogback that I got from Rich does not have any crossbolts, but internal lugs, one under the front sight and one under the barrel ring. This particular rifle is chambered in .416 Rigby and has safari classic on the reciever with a date stamp of 2006. This newer "hogback" has good piece of wood under it and feels very solid when firing, although crossbolts are a good idea. Rodney.

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}Here is a picture of a newer non-lux "hogback". Note the lack of any crossbolts. Rodney.

Idaho Sharpshooterthey're like that, my FS9,3x62 has two external, as does my 375 American. The 505 Gibbs and the 416 Rigby have the internal.
I intend to add to the last two.

RIPO.K., I guess we haven't gotten any "new hogbacks" in Kentucky. We allow no feral pigs into the state.

DanEPmy 550 Lux in .375 H&H should be back from getting crossbolted and glassed -- the shop said they were installing TWO of the crossbolts (375H&H isn't like a Lott -- but it was a kindness...)
It started out with none.

Idaho SharpshooterHah!!! RIP,
my understanding is that you export feral hogs from the state of Kentucky!

RIPRich,
Nope. No exports. We kill 'em and eat 'em. Every now and then shooting parties have to be organized to clean up the Dan'l Boone National Forest. Whenever Tennessee Volunteer Hogs sneak in from the Smokies, Kentucky Volunteer Shooters clean up. It's a crime to let your hogs run wild in Kentucky. Do you know where your hog is tonight?

BlackHawk1My CZ550 Safari Magnum (375 H&H-hogback) has one crossbolt. So far, no problems.

RIPI'll keep my eye peeled for any feral hogbacks with no crossbolts trying to sneak into Kentucky. I prefer hogbacks with three crossbolts, but if I ever found a feral one, I would only install the crossbolts fore and aft of the magazine box. That single tang crossbolt is sort of like a tit on a boar hog, not too effective.

Dave BushHow do you like the weight of your euro stock style rifle? I was thinking about on of those in a .375 H&H because they are lighter than the gun with the American style stock. I think most .375 H&H's are too heavy. Around nine pounds without a scope would be nice.

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}I like the euro or hogback stock very much as the design puts me a little faster to the iron sights. Don't know the exact weight of the rifle as I have not put it on a scale yet- might do that tomorrow. The rifle i've pictured here on this thread is balanced well and shoots good, I'll have it at the March 9nth shoot. Rodney.
