I'm thinking of asking Santa for a cz550 in .458 Lott. I have a 550 hogback in .375 and like it. I've not seen the 550 American. Since the American wasn't available when I bought the hogback, I'm looking for opinions on each. I think the hogback handles recoil just fine. That's not an issue for me.

You probably won't find a .458 Lott in the USA except as an American styled stock. Reworking a Lux stocked .458 WinMag into a .458 Lott is a good option. My .458 Lott CZ is just that, and I like it. Check out PC's pics of his. Hope Will doesn't take offense. Maybe you need to try the American stock too? I have. Ho hum.
