Fit and Feel of Double Rifles. Lessons learned
At the Dallas Safari Show I handled EVERY double rifle in the place at least 3 times. Some of them more.
Lessons Learned:
Even with rifles of the same make and calibre there can and usually is a different "feel" between 2 different rifles.
Some times it is very suttle, other times it makes a great deal of difference.
For example: Perugini & Visini had 2 470 double rifles. One fit ME very good. The other was a "boat anchor" [Their 9,3x74R was a nice rifle, felt very good].
I handled several of each make of the "New Made Doubles".
Within each brand some rifles would "feel" better than some of the others.
This is also Very true with used British rifles as most of us would expect.
This is one reason why I always advise double rifle buyers to try as many rifles as you can.....And buy the one that feels and fits you the best. If it is a used rifle try and shoot it also.

Also let the record reflect that I did not handle any BOLT RIFLE TRASH.
At least while I was with Rusty. I "looked" at a bolt rifle and as I turned away I saw Rusty with his camera at the "ready". His comment was something to the effect of " I thought I was going to get you holding a bolt rifle." He had a big on his face.

YOu can only imagine the difficulty of trying to get NE450#2 to pick up a bolt gun and try to use the camera with only one hand while holding a scotch with the other.
