cobradWhere to find .458 bore guide
Just bought a Remington custom shop 700 in .458 win mag. Can't find a bore guide anywhere bigger than .416. Anyone know of something?

pertinaxI can't help you-- I have the same problem, and would love an answer. I suppose you could make something though.
Eric Sinclair of Possum Hollow Products, Inc. in Andrews, Indiana, makes bore guides for almost all calibers including .458, for most actions. Telephone number 260 782 0735. You can buy the .458 bore guide they make from Brownells under o-ring bore guides, product number 528-101-046.

I thought that biggest that Brownells offered was .416. The prouduct number that you refernce lists it as applicable for calibers .358, .375, .404, and .416.
O-RING BORE GUIDEI might call Possum Hollow to see if they make one in 458, as I've been looking for one for months.

cobradI got an email from bore-tech stating they could get one for me. I replied to go ahead, but haven't heard back. I'm going to call them tomorrow. Will post the results.
Steve and Cobrad, the Brownell's number I listed is the one I ordered and have received. I use it for my 404 Jeffery. The package it came in states the calibers listed on the Brownell's site, as well as 460 Weatherby (perhaps that's why it has the 46 suffix?). Since it is made by Possum Hollow, the best confirmation would be to call Eric Sinclair but the one I received definitely works on a .458.

SteveWink,
Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. What rifle are you using it in BTW? I'd be using mine in a Ruger RSM Lott.

I use this bore guide on a Winchester Model 70 action rebarreled to 404 Jeffery. So the outside diameter fits the Model 70 action no problem. If there is any significant difference in dimensions with the Ruger you should probably call Eric Sinclair at Possum Hollow.

cobradThanks Wink,

guess I might have looked a little closer. I just talked to Eric Sinclair and there will be one coming next week. I already have several Sinclair International bore guides for smaller calibers, and was pleasantly surprised to learn that Eric builds them. Great product.
