Check the Remington website for their model 798.

It'll be a bit but will be available soon I suspect.

Someone here bought a Daly .375 H&H on gunbroker recently.

It really had a nice piece of wood on it.

msorenso,

Go to www.cdnninvestments.com and download the latest catalog. They have Charles Daly rifles advertised in thet flyer in 458 and 375. Not sure if it is the model you want.

Hope this helps.

I was quoted $569.99 over the phone.

I wanted a photo to confirm it was what I thought it was and they said I had to download the catalog......screw it!!!

They also quoted a double trigger model which threw me for a loop!

I just looked at the catologe they sent me. the $569 Daly is the Safary Mauser. I never realized that it was available. The double set trigger is an extra $50 but on a DG rifle, why would it be needed?

wizard78,
because even big bores benefit from a more accurately placed shot, and that is what a set trigger or set triggers will allow the shooter to do. You do squeeze off your shots don't you? Imagine squeezing 2-12oz instead of 3-4lbs...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I have an Oberndorf Mauser sporter in 35 Whelen with double set triggers and with a 250 gr. bullet, the close proximity of the set trigger to the front of the guard "barks" the hell out of my finger on recoil... no thanks on anything bigger!

I can only imagine that it's individual taste. I have a Styer with DST and use the set trigger at the range but have never used it in the field. I can see your point and can't disspute anything on the DG hunts as I don't have DG experience. I was always under the mind that on DG, I should use the old "keep it as Simple as possible" theory. I think that inexpensive Daly would be great either way.
