Action work on a 375 Ruger
Has anyone found a way to make the actions easier to work? My shoulder's pretty smashed up, and it's quite hard for me to work a bolt w. the rifle at my shoulder.

Do you need to do some rehab for a bad shoulder after surgery or what?

If you want a slicker-operating action, you can search "action smoothing" or the like and see some responses. I had one thread.

Take it off your shoulder if you have to. Not my preferred approach but better than not shooting if you can do it fast.

Or buy a rifle on an action that is slck already. Springfield, Krag (I have heard this one but not tried it), Model 54 Win, Pre-64 Win, etc.

Of course as RIP says getting your shoulder working again might be best in the long run.

Good luck.

Er... that is w. my shoulder working... Not working was not moving... Neither my brother and I have very functional shoulders -- he flipped a convertible, and tried to catch the ground... and I lost a snatch over the back of me, and for some idiotic reason, forgot to let go.

Krags are wonderful actions.

I'll search for action smoothing, thank you.

Here's the one I was thinking of.

I thought it was my thread -- forgot I dragged up an older one.
