.470 NE shell holder number(s)?
Anyone know the number for either the RCBS or Lyman (or other brand) shell holder for the .470 Nitro Express? I can't find it in any of my references.

I also posted this question over on the Reloading forum but I thought I would ask here also even though it is a little off topic. I purchased a new Merkel 140-2 last week and I need to get the reloading dies, etc. ordered.

Thanks!

I neary did the same thing, buying a 470 NE double. But, my wallet isn't fat enough just yet. A source you could try is CH4D. They list the dies on page 21 of their online catalog for $120 and they list shell holders #500 or #57 (thier number system I suppose). I am sure they are a custom order and there will be a bit of lead time to get them. Here's the web URL

http://www.ch4d.com/

I would think that RCBS and Redding would also make 470 NE dies and shell holders for them, even though they do not list them in thier reference charts.

I just checked my RCBS dies and shellholder. The shellholder is a special shellholder for the 470 and is labeled "470 NE". Huntington die specialties has the dies and shellholders in stock, but they aren't cheap.

Ken is right. Also, just go to this opening page for the telephone number and office hours, they take credit cards and the dies and shell holder will arrive quickly, for only an arm and a leg:

Thanks everyone for your help. After doing some more searching around on the web today, I found the RCBS shell holder at Graf & Sons ( http://www.grafs.com/ ) listed for $16.95. I think I'll order it from them.

Also, Grafs is showing the .470 NE RCBS dies listed for $223.95. However, the Old Western Scrounger has .470 NE dies listed for $137.28 so I ordered the dies from them. I'm not sure if the dies are from RCBS or CH4D as OWS shows the manufacturer listed as RCBS/CH. However, either brand is fine with me.

Again, thanks for the help and replies!
