Alberta CanuckWhere is Ed McMahan When I need Him?
Stopped by the local gun shop here in Cave Creek, AZ today and saw some nice eye candy for sale.
Smallest one was a Bill Dowtin double square bridge mauser in .375 H&H. Next up was a Granite Mountain in .416 Rigby. Biggest was a custom .505 Gibbs, but I don't remember by whom. Anyway it certainly wasn't a CZ of any variety.
All three not only had great wood, but were very nicely engraved too, IIRC, and all three had been to Africa and proved their mettle there...
Where the heck is Ed McMahan (or his successor) hiding my cheque these days?

HuviusSounds like some interesting stuff.
They have a website?

Alberta CanuckYes they do, but I don't know its URL.
You could probably find it by googling Cave Creek Armory

Lhook7Very cool. I wish that had been there when I lived in Cave Creek... Then again, it is probably just as well it was not there!

Bill/OregonAC: That's a nice little gun shop that has .505s on the shelf!
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

Alberta CanuckBill -
And better yet, we in Cave Creek are only 5 miles or so and 2 stop lights east of Black Canyon Range (now Ben Avery Range) via the relatively rural Carefree Highway. For those who don't know of the Black Canyon Range, it has 7 trap fields, skeet facilities, a benchrest competition range of 50 benches with a covered handloading loading area, a 1,000-yard "across the course" highpower range, at least 50 firing-point pistol range, a small-bore range, a silhouette range, and a bunch of other stuff. It has been used for major international matches since at least 1970.
Anyway, if a shooter wants to die and go to Gunny heaven, he should be warned...the summers there are warm, 'cause he'll end up at Black Canyon Range.
Whittington is newer, but we don't have NRA mucky-mucks in control of everything we do (and say) here.
(I am not anti-NRA...have been a Life Member since '62. I'm just "pro-local".)

No, I work for a construction/technology contractor and I came to Guam to open our office here.
