Scope rings and mounts for a 375 RUM
I know that most rings and bases such as Talley or Leupold work with the lightweight 1-4x scopes for big bores, but I have a tactical 10x that weighs 21oz. Current funding keeps me from purchasing that nice Kahles 1-4X. I highly doubt that those nice Talleys would hold up, especially since high rings are of the order here to clear the rear sight. I have done research on rings designed for the 50BMG, each ring is 1 inch wide with 6 clamp screws each, only thing is they have huge mounting bolts on the side to mount to the rail, not to mention they look huge being one inch wide. Wouldn't look too pretty on top of a big bore with a hooded front sight and barrel band. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, I really do not want to resort to using thread locker on the scope to keep it from sliding in the rings.

Weaver style steel bases and Burris Signature Zee rings are my choice. I turn a screw tight and then hit the screwdriver with a hammer and turn the screw again. It seems to work and is easier to get them apart.

The Talley's will work great. Much stronger than many other options. I have a 24 oz. scope on a tactical rifle in 338 Lapua mounted in Talley's as well as using them for big bores like 416 Rigby and 450 Dakota with heavy scopes. Never a problem and no scope slippage. Call and talk with Gary at Talley if you need further information.

I'll second the use of Burris Signature Rings. This is one of the best ideas in scope mounting to come out in recient years. Their holding power is excellent! Bill T.

yes as a matter of factly, the badger rings are what I was considering, and yes, they are ugly as sin on a ABG type rifle. I think I am gonna take the plunge and get the Talleys. If I shoot them off, hopefully the customer service will help me. Thanks for the input folks.
