Terry Blauwkamp375 Kimber report.....
I took a new Caprivi out yesterday and was absolutely impressed with it.
I shot two 3 shot clover leaf groups.
One with 300 gr Hornady RN reloads, and one with Federal Factory 270 gr SP.

JudgeGWhy would anyone want a Kimber? They, in both the Caprivi and 84 types, are American-made rifles, well made, attractive, controlled-feed, accurate tools in which you can take both pride in appearance and in function.
I've had only one Kimber rifle. It was in .243 Win. and shot no more than 3/4" no matter what ammo was used. I made the mistake of letting a friend's daughter use it to kill her first buck and you know how that goes.
Just out of curiosity, what is the weight of the gun? My experience with Kimbers is that they are light (which I think is an asset if you're going to tote it much more than shoot it). The website says a little less than 9 lbs. It that about what your rifle weighs? And finally, the "suggested" price is a bit over $3k? Can one find a Caprivi for less or is the demand such that dealers are getting retail?
Congratulations on such a shooter!

Terry BlauwkampThe Kimber is "too heavy" for my taste.
Stock work is perfect a well done.

lavacaI like my two Kimbers as well, although Kimber and I are going to have to talk about my .458 Caprivi. The barrel band came loose after 3 rounds. But I'm confident once they get that fixed it will be a fine rifle. My .300 Win. is a great rifle, although, like every .300 Win. I've had, it's extremely finicky. But once you find a load/bullet it likes, it shoots great. The Caprivi is not overly heavy in my opinion. The .300 Montana is extremely light.

Thomas JonesWhile not near as cool,
Kimber makes another version in 375H&H with a synthetick stock and stailess. I can't remember the name 'but it is designed for alaska, and I think retail is 1800.00

RIPThe stainless-synthetic Kimber big bore is called the "Talkeetna" and is a pipe-actioned, washer-recoil-lugged, Remchester.
The Winchester M70 Classic Stainless .375 H&H is called the "Wasilla," and is a much better rifle, if you can find one.

Dan416It is nice to hear a good report on a gun. In its review of the Caprivi, the NRA American Rifleman made some comment about loading/ejection port length and it seemed short to me for a 375. Does your Caprivi eject loaded rounds ok?

studdogTerry, I agree with you. Nice package but too heavy for this ols fart to lug around the bush.
