They look real good, sort of M70 like.

But my understanding is that hidden below is a Rem 700 style receiver with washer recoil lug or does that only apply to the small calibres.

My bit of searching around seems to turn up quite a bit on Kimber and poor quality control and in particular with regards to accuracy.

In short, are they any good.

I have no experence with the big bore Kimbers
But I have a .308 that shoots excelently and looks great too.
From what i have seen on the kaprivi it is certainly a nicelooking rifle, and it has all the features I would want.
But I did heare of some unhappy campers.
Mot of the complaints wereabout the barrel band sling swivel not being attached well enough.
I could easily forgive that if the rifle shoots well.
When you buy a new model anything you might find a few bugs that need removing.
I am hoping to buy a .375 H&H one day soon
and as far as an off the shelf rifle goes the Kimber kaprivi will be near the top of the list !

Yes, the bigbore "Kimber Caprivi" (walnut and blue) and "Kimber Talkeetna" (stainless and synthetic)
are "Remchesters."
Tubular/pipe action with washer recoil lug.

Clever extension of the front receiver ring hides the washer lug sandwiched between action and barrel.

I much prefer the "Winchester Wasilla" rifle.

The walnut and blue versions of M70, whether Pre-64 or Classic, should be known as the "Winchester Denali" rifle.
"Denali" may be translated as "the great one."

A FRIEND BOUGHT THE 375 HH AND IT WOULD NOT GROUP 4" @ 100 YARDS. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, THEY GUARANTEE 3" @ 50 YARDS.

HE DID GET HIS MONEY BACK.

My 375 shoots 1/2" at 50 yards, the stock is a little chunky with nice figure. For $2500 or so I paid I don't think they are all that bad.

What a turn off. At least Remington don't try and hide it.

I would take a Winchester Safari Classic over the Kimber any day, and put the difference( about $1400) in slicking up the action and maybe fit a nicer piece of wood. You would be ahead of the game. My Winny 375 H&H will do WAAAY better than the Kimber with their 3" @ 50yds...what a joke.

I took a Kimber Caprivi 375H&H to TZ Masailand last October and did quite well with it on an assortment of PG. Really happy with this rifle.

The barrell band for the sling did come loose prior to that hunt, thankfully, here at home. My local gunsmith fixed this problem easily.
