Saeed, how long is your range that you have the picture of on your opening page? Just curious. Also, what type of backstop do you have to stop those big bore shots? Bill T.

Bill,

The range is 100 yards.

And we use sand bags for bullet stops. Depending on the amount of shooting, we have to replace the sand every now and then.

We have two extractor fans installed on it, one about 30 yards down and one is right at the end. We also have a door at the end which we use to replace the sand from.

Saeed,
Is sand very expensive there?

Saeed, It would be interesting to see a picture of your nice set up there from the outside of the building. Are you located in a rural area? At least you can shoot in the hot summers there in comfort. Here in Arizona, It gets too hot in the summer to shoot big bores. The barrels would never cool down on their own. Once the temp. climbs to over triple digits, it time for indoor pistol shooting for me. Bill T.

Bill,

I will try to get some shots of the outside in the day time and post them.

Nick,

You might laugh at this, but a few years ago we had to import sand from ENGLAND! of all places.

They said it was some special sand they had to get some silly purpose.

Bill,

This is a photo of our tunnel is it comes out of the house. To the left center of the photo you can see one of the extractor fans - this is the one at about 30 yards.

This photo shows where the end of the tunnel goes. You can see the palm tree furthest out to the cente, the end is just behind it.

We used to live out of the city boundaries, but we are surrounded by other houses now.

Saeed, Most definetly a first class setup all the way around! Thanks for taking the time to post the photos. I didn't know it was underground. Very nice landscaping also. Bill T.
