Howdy, I have been thinking about having a big bore rifle built, and I was wondering if anybody has any experiance with a fella named Michael Merker.
I want to have a 505 Gibbs built on a Remington 30s action.
Thanks

contact Jim Wisner for an idea of what is involved. He built one for a friend of mine that works very well. www.wisners.com IIRC

Here's Jim's website, you can check. He did a repair job for me 5 years ago on a Rem 788 bolt and I was very pleased with the work done and the service received.

Jeff, I looked at that Hartmann and Weiss, it does look like a nice rifle. I don't like the 2+1 round capacity that this rifle has.

I was able to visit with Jim Wisner today. He is a wonderful man to visit with. We discussed my project for a short while as he was very busy. Jim told me that he would send me a article on converting my action over to a 505 Gibbs, written from notes that he took building various Enfield/Remingtion model 30 rifles for other people. Jim No longer preforms these conversions.

I have spoke to Michael Merker and he said he could do the work. Is there anybody on here who has hired him to build a 505 Gibbs on a Enfield or Remington Model 30 action?
