jstevensCartridge boxes for Big Bores
I recently bought a Ruger magnum rifle in .416 Rigby and ordered 100 rounds of Norma brass, they came in bulk (OK), but I'm having a hell of a time finding some kind of a cartridge box to put them in after loaded. I sure don't want to buy another box of factory loads at $100 a box just to get brass and a paper box. Surely someone has some of these in stock. The ones sold by Grafs and Midway only say the'll fit up to .375 H&H, but possibly the .416 will fit, I don't think som as they won't go into the ones I have.
Ye gads, man! MTM makes the Case-Gard H-50 in XL size to fit the big ones. The partitions inside the plastic box are square holes instead of round, and will fit up to 600 NE. They also make a plastic slip case that holds 20 rounds. Anybody that carries the MTM plastic ammo boxes can get these for you.
Try this, select, "rifle" on the left side bar:

The MTM case guard 50's work real good. Even for 450 No2's which are longer than most Nitro rounds.
If you want a plastic cartridge box that holds 20 rounds try
www.huntingtons.comThey work good too.
I see they have a new 22 round flip top box that holds .416 Rigby and 600 NE. There is also a 10 round wallet style plastic case, in addition to the 50 round flip top and 20 round slip top.
Four different ammo boxes to choose from, just from MTM. Big bore nuts galore. The offerings are growing.

I have seen [in the flesh] all the new ammo boxes you mentioned in your last post. They are all very nice. The flip top box and the 10 round wallet will not hold 450 No2's, [they are too long]
