SDhuntergunsmith for DG rifle?
I just purchased a CZ 550 Safari Mag in 416 Rigby.
I would like some suggestions for a good smith to go through it and prep it for DG use.
Smooth the action out, reliable feeding etc. Probably take a couple inches off the barrel. Crossbolts.
Any help would be appreciated. Iwould especially like to hear from the Montana guys.

DigitalDanYou might want to tald to Dennis Erhardt in Helena, MT. Check the

He built this:
It shoots like this:
I was hungover and hanging upside down from the overhead at the range by my ankles. It was snowing too.

FungunnerTom Burgess is great if he has the time to do it for you. I don't know where you are located but Steve Heilmann is considered one of the best in the country. His work is the best i have seen in a very long time and he will get the rifle back to you very quickly. He is in Grass Valley,California.

Lewis50Here's another vote for Roger Ferrell. He put together a 416 Rem Mag for me out of a Montana action and is now modifying a 338 Win Mag for an upcoming hunt.

465H&HI had the barrel shortened on a 458 Lott, CZ 550 from 25 to 22". This caused the front sight to be way too high and bullets impacted two feet high at 100 yds. My gun smith ground down the rear sight base and recut the dovetail. Came out perfect.
