I bought my CZ 550 Magnum barreled action in .416 Rigby in Europe but it looks identical to those pictures I see of rifles sold in the USA. The barrels are made in the Czech Republic.

Will is right.
The Safari Classics are button-rifled/McGowen.
The standard rifles are hammer-forged/Czech-made.
McGowen did tell me that he has done work for CZ such as lapping/smoothing some rough hammer-forged barrels made by CZ, whenever some rough ones might come along. Mostly, CZ barrels are very good.
Harry McGowen's button rifled barrels are so smooth they never have to be lapped. He has started cryo-treating lately, for what it is worth.
Harry McGowen taught Mr. Krieger to button rifle and gave him permission to copy his machinery, so not all Krieger barrels are cut-rifled.
I would rather have a fast twist McGowen stainless barrel than any other.
I know Harry's rifling at a glance. Best there is. Hope the old geezer never dies.

I don't see the problem with the Czech barrels. All the CZ's I've bought have been very accurate with anything I've fed them.
Does a 375 need to be a 0.5 MOA rifle anyway? I guess it depends on what you want to hunt with it. WIth a 375 or anything bigger, 50 yards is a long shot for me!
