adamhunterQuestion for you 404J fans
I was all set to begin having my first big bore built, a 416 Rem, when the 404 Jeffrey caught my attention. I understand because of the case design, the 404 requires some specific tuning of the action to get it to feed properly. Can anyone explain to me what all is involved in getting one to feed properly in say an MRC action?
Thanks!
Adam

375fanActually I'm having one built on a MRC action right now. When I called them, they told me they have to do some work on the feed ramps and bolt face as I recall. It didn't sound like it was a lot of work. After the work they would make sure it fed properly before sending the action on to the gunsmith. Having a 23"McGowan barrel put on,NECG banded front sight with a Brockman pop up for rear sight. When I get it from gunsmith I'll post a full report.
