My 458 Lott & 416 Rigby for your perusal
These are pictures of my Winchester Custom Shop 458 Lott and my CZ 416 Rigby.

The Lott was restocked by the Custom Shop because it was being destroyed from the inside out. Somehow, the recoil lug was breaking loose at the weld. I thought they did a nice job with the new stock and it looks pretty good to me.

The Rigby is my first attempt at making a stock. What do you think? Just joshing! It is a stock that I had Henry at Great American Gunstocks do for me. I'm pretty pleased with it. If you notice, there are no sling swivels on it. I'm going to have a barrel band put on it and a rear swivel. But I'm going to shoot it first to see how the bedding and accuracy is before I put too much more "smith time" in it.

Let me know what you think so far. The Lott is on the top.

The Rigby weighs exactly 9 lbs. The Lott weighs 9 lbs 5 oz without the scope. With the scope, it weighs 10 lbs 14 oz. After you posted your question, I went out and weighed them on my postal scales. I just love Talley QD rings!

Tell me about the scope. Which is it. Is it holding up to the recoil?
They look great. I admit a preference to the darker wood.
I couldn't tell from the photo. Do you have two crossbolts in it?
Very nice indeed.

How bad did Henry get you for the stock? My experience there has been mixed.

I cannot comment on the scope, yet. But I bet it will hold up just fine. It is a Schmidt & Bender 1.5-6x42mm. I had a 2.5 Leupold Compact with a Heavy Duplex reticle. I didn't really care for it. The Lott can reach out there a bit and the Heavy Duplex was just too thick.

Both rifles have two crossbolts. I sent Henry the barreled action and he sent me back the completed rifle. Bedded, finished, and all for just under a grand. It wasn't cheap, but I felt it was fairly priced for what I got.

The 416 is yummy! I don't like light coloured stocks so the other one doesn't please me that much. Although the work on both seems to be quite substantial!
