I was lucky enough to get an email from Butch this morning after I asked him about the new action I had been hearing rumors about.

Well, the man sent me some photos that I want to share with all of you. These photos show Butch's new action in the white - it is not yet color case hardened. It should be really sexy when it's all finished up.

So, you've seen it here first!

If I get more pictures before he updates his website, I'll be sure to pass them on.

Is this for the .577 cartridges, or the .450-.400/.450/.470/.500 class?

That I'm not 100% sure about. I *BELIEVE* it is for the .400 to .500 chambered actions.

It's a very attractive piece of work, and may upstage the PH model.

I like the engraving. I wonder how the weight compares to the PH?

Did Butch say if he would have a completed rifle at SCI?

Do you know what's better about the new action?

Do you know what the price range will be on the rifle?

With it being a new rifle, I wasn't sure if anyone knew anything.

He told me a few months ago it should be ready for SCI and I think the price is roughly 12K. Color case hardened. The one at SCI should be a 450-400

Two things right away; it isn't stainless and it isn't as bulky. For me that's better, for others maybe not.

According to a recent conversation with Butch, the Classic will be chambered in the 500, 470, 450, and in a smaller sized action the 450-400 3", and 375 Flanged.

Really sweet! I much prefer the contours and appearance of this action to his others, more like a traditional English boxlock.

I wonder why he eliminated the bolsters on this one.

Yeah, it looks very nice. I think he said it would be on display at SCI/DSC. Can't wait to get a looksie.

It looks very short! Not at all in the classic Birgmingham trade or Webley & Scott style.

At the DELUXE level it's going to be 18K, intercepting sears, articulated front trigger, etc.....

he will have a completed one at the shows, a 450/400 9 1/2 lbs.
