1 T-Rex is good .. 2 T-Rex are better ... now a 3rd 577 T-Rex joins the family

Hello All,

You may recall this post when I got my second 577 T-Rex ..

http://forums.accuratereloadin...481061062#6481061062

Well ... now I acquired a 3rd one. I guess now I have a T-Rex collection. This one came with 17 original A-Square cartridges.

Anyone else have one of these? ... wanna sell it? Wink

Hello matt salm,
Thanks for the reply.

I've shot my other two - a lot. I haven't shot this one yet. Just got it. No videos.

Hello Hogbreath,
Thanks for the reply.

Not really, I just like the big ones. This goes well with my 700NE.

Looks like a fat sow pregnant with twins.

But that's an A-Square made rifle for you.

Have fun with it!

If I had one I would certainly sell it. No thanks. :-). Man, I am not recoil sensitive but think I would pass on that.

Has anyone ever seen one restocked into a synthetic?

How many did A-Square build? Congrats on the new acquisition.

I don’t know how many T-Rexs A-Square made but I’ll bet Buckstix owns a good percentage of them! Big Grin

Shoot the largest caliber you can shoot well, and practice, practice, practice.

Nice looking '17 Enfield.

Goes to show what a great action will
handle.

What's it weigh? and which brand is it?

Looks like the inletting at the trigger guard
is way too deep. You've got some work fixing
that.

Let's see all three side by side now.

Hello RR 314,
Thanks for the reply.

You get used to the recoil. Its a 2-step gun.

Hello Johnny reb,
Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I think it looks good also. According to Art A. they made about 12.

Hello Wildcatter,
Thanks for the reply.

That means I've owned about 25% of the production.

Hello ZekeShikar,
Thanks for the reply.

I'm actually pretty old, but the recoil hasn't, hasn't hasn't hasn't hasn't, affected me one, one, one, one, bit.

Hello georgeld,
Thanks for the reply.

They all 3 weigh around 15-1/2 pounds loaded. All T-Rex rifles have 3 mercury recoil reducers built in. The one with the scope weighs about 3/4 pound more. The first and third are Winchester actions. The first has iron sights only. It has the "Appearance Package" with upgraded wood, ebony forend tip, and high gloss blue.. The second has iron sights and scout rifle scope mounting. It also has upgraded wood, but mat-blue finish. The third has iron sights with standard scope mounting, mat-blue finish, and standard wood.

Very nice.

I friend of mine has one.

It seems he gets far greater joy watching others shoot it then shooting it himself.

By far the catchiest name of any cartridge out there. .577 Tyrannosaur.

What loads do you normally shoot out of them?

Hello AXEL19,
Thanks for the reply.

The only other cartridge name that even comes close to having a catchy name, is a wildcat cartridge called the ... ".22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer".

As for my T-Rex loads, I typically shoot 750g bullets at 2000fps for a fun load. With the heavy weight of the 577 T-Rex rifle, with its 3 recoil reducers, that load is really a lot of fun, with very moderate recoil.

Beautiful rifles but I think I'd rather be eaten by a T-Rex than pull the trigger on one of those. You are a better man than me. Hot loaded 45-70 rounds from my Ruger #1 is probably the max I can take.

Start young, hunt hard, and enjoy God's bounty.

Fine looking rifles, beautiful wood.

Tame recoil?? Yeah sure from watching Saeed's

I'm out of such games with these replaced
shoulders.

Buckstix, this is amazing! shocker

To have one of these is a treat, two is an accomplishment, and three of them is almost too hard to believe. These are amazing rifles and rare indeed. Congratulations on locating all these. You know, at a certain point people will accuse you of "hoarding" 577 T-Rex's! (Not really a thing.)

Any idea how many of these were made by A-Square? I'd have to think you have a high percentage of the total at this point.

Neat collection. Thanks for sharing them.

For killing stray dogs that chase you when riding a bicycle.

Hello Biggs300,
Thanks for the reply.

Moderate loads kick about the same as a Hot loaded light-weight 45-70.

Hello georgeld,

Those shooting Saeed's rifle wern't expecting the HOT loads in a non-typical light-weight T-Rex.

Hello farbedo,
Thanks for the reply.

Art told me less than 2 dozen made, and only about 10-12 stayed here in the U.S.

More went to PHs in Africa.
