CollinsI put a rear peep site on mine and have no other plans. It's pretty, feeds and extracts well, shoots straight. I'd ask nothing more of this rifle.

GDOGNo, I have not received it yet. These are standard mods I have made to most of my rifles though.
I thought of two more...
Adjust trigger to 2lbs.
Cerakote or similar to barrel

flntknp17I couldn't be happier with my 375 African! I didn't do anything but add a sling and scope. Its my favorite rifle as is. Seems like folks always wanna goof with triggers because they think thats just what you oughta do with a new rifle because it couldn't possibly be good enough from the factory.........I think the new Ruger trigger (at least on the three rifles I have shot that had them) is pretty nice.
Just my $0.02

DWrightI would do just what's needed to suit yourself, as long as it fit's you is the main thing.
I for one have to cut all my stocks down about an inch in length to fit my short arms and stocky build. I also reshape the forends if they are too thick. Then I install a nice soft recoil pad on them to suit my tastes. Then of course there is installing the right base's and rings for my low power Leupold scopes. Then I'm done except for the load developement.
But if it already fit's; your done.

SnowwolfeI replaced the white front sight with a red fiber optic from NECG. Much easier to see now.

Thomas JonesAs far as the trigger on the hawkey,
I have done two. On one I installed a timney, witch is on a .257 Roberts, I would love that trigger a a target or varmint rifle, but I can't get it heavyenogh to feel safe with it when I have gloves on.
But i orderd some springs form wolf and I just used one of them un my .338 win and it is just about perfect.
I pulled the factory trigger spring and replaced it with the lighter wolf in no time.
Its real good now.

Arild IversenI took mine to the smith and we decided to do a few things to make it a bit more "posh"

First of all, a bedding job.
Then he installed another cross bolt in the web area, countersunk both and put in ebony blind plugs.
Next an ebony fore end cap, and he moved the forward sling swiwel to the barrel.
New Pachmayr decellerator recoil pad, stripping of the stock finish and added a good old oil rubbing.
Kept the original trigger as it is, felt good enough for me.
Adjusted the feeding and polished the mechanism a tiny bit.
I guess this is as close to a "custom" rifle I will ever get

Light, handy and a pleasure to shoot!

GDOGI appreciate all the ideas. I am definatley going to have the 1" decelerator installed. I also think the cross bolt is a must for looks. I may shoot it this spring before I decide on the bedding and trigger.
Very Cool oil rubbed stock--I love the darker color. I need to find out who Locally could do that and how much???

the_captainI doubt you will have any complaints about the new LC6 trigger. Mine is very nice right out of the box. You will want to try it before you make any changes there.
