Gerhard.DelportNeed your advice again..
Guys,
I know I have asked this question before but I want to make really sure about the following.
I have to give the specs for my 500 Jeff barrel to Truvelo in South Africa.
I understand from guys that has made use of Truvelo before that they tend to make the barrel to light.
This is what I want in the rifle and if you can make suggestions with regards to the barrel I will appreciate it.
The barrel must be 22 inches long.
The rifle needs to weigh 11.5 or 12 lbs.
I have heard about things like heavy German barrel and such but have no idea about specs.
Your input will be appreciated.

Idaho Sharpshooterreceiver ring diameter for three inches, then sweep radius over two inches to one-inch diameter, then taper to .975" at 22".
My opinion...but it is what I have on my 550 Gibbs, more or less.

Idaho SharpshooterJakkals,
my rifle weighs 10.5 pounds bare. I plan for an even twelve pounds scoped and three rounds in the rifle. Mine is built on the P14/P17 action, and is the 505 Gibbs necked-up to 550 caliber. My 505 Gibbs is a factory CZ.
