Thomas MShoot my 450 Rigby the first time!
Finally my switchbarrel rifle is beginning to be ready to do some testing.
This weekend I fired 6 rounds just to try, stock not finnished yeat. Loaded 100grains Norma MRP behind some 45-70 405 grainers in Bertram brass. I'm really suspissious about the Bertrams but none broke yeat
Recoil was about the same as the 416 rigby with simmilar loads. Tried one with muzzle break and was really surprised how well it worked. I cant wait to try some 500grainers. Hopefully next weekend. The F990 was a nice one but it cost me allmost 100US$
This will not be one of the fancy hunting rifles some of the guys here builds, its rather a toy, just for the fun of it.
CZ550 action, Lothar Walther 1:14 twist barrel, Pachmayr F990, no open sights and homemade laminated wood stock that will be painted to conseal my mistakes. Still trying to figure out what scope to buy, probably a Leupold VX III 1-5.
There will not be any fancy pics but if anybody want to see, i will try to post some anyway in the future.

470 MbogoHi Thomas,
Have a good time with your new shoulder cannon but pictures are in order. How fast are the 405 grain bullets travelling with that load? I would imagine that they turn inside out but are good for playing around. How did they ship that F990 to get the price that high. Was it UPS?
Take care
Dave

Thomas MI made a mistake when buing the F990. I ordered it through the importer here in Sweden. I should have ordered it directly from the States.
One learn from ones mistakes.
I try to get the pics, be patient
