<Hunter - DownUnder>Argentine M98
Yesterday I had a bit of a field day at the shop and bought 3 new guns. One is an M98 (argentinian? I think. Looks spanish made in 1942.) in good condition chambered for the 7x57.
I don't really have a lot of interest in this calibre and would rather use the action (if suitable) for something a bit bigger. The gun cost me virtually nothing so I'm not worried about losing money on it.
Can this action be modified for a .338 or .375 calibre and if so suggestions? I need no bigger than .375 here in australia and would probably be better served with a .338.
Thanks in advance

AtkinsonI think from your description you may have a Mexican Mod. 98 action but not sure...
Post all the markings on the action here and I will be glad to identify it for you.
