While my Winchester shoots the 350 Speer and 350 Barnes Xs (3 shots) under an inch, it sprays the Partition over 2-3 inches.
Although the Barnes will likely do anything I need a 416 to do, in my heart I'd prefer a 400 weight bullet.
If I can get it to shoot!
Any suggestions?
No experience in the Remington version, but my 416 Taylor did not care for them.
Huge groups, not even worth measuring. This with several types of powders. I finally gave up, and set my last 50 or so to a friend with another 416, I forget which one though. He never told me how they worked out.
Have heard good reports from Ray though...

Ray had several clients use the Partitions this past hunting season. I think his field reports were favorable on the bullet. However, if you cannot get the Noslers to group with basic load development attempts, you might want to try Woodleigh or TB.
The Noslers are pretty long and eat up a lot of case and I'm not real fond of the idea of a super-compressed load. Anyone know, off hand, how long a 400 grain A-Frame or Woodleigh is?
I may just try the Swifts or Woodleighs.
Thanks, Joe.
I don't have any Swifts of Woodleighs to measure.
I do have one 370gr North Fork bullet in .416". It measures 1.438 inches long. That compared to a normal Hornady RN which measures about 1.340 inches long.
Last week, I ordered two boxes of Mikes NF bullets in 370grs, should get here anytime now.
Given the smaller Taylor case, I'm hoping to reach the magic 2400fps with this slightly lighter bullet.

I snuck off yesterday and got to shoot a bit. Seventy-eight grains of IMR-4064 gave 2436fps and a 1.350" group. Just one group but promising.
Now we'll see if it will do that good all the time.
The Nosler runs about 1.485" overall length and .710" from the base to the cannelure. That long shank eats up a lot of boiler room.
Thanks for the comments, Joe.
