Dalphon AR15 50AE upper
Anyone ever shoot one of these?

http://www.dalphon.com/conv.html

I can get one with the same barrel profile as my TC encore in 510 whisper to allow use of the same suppressor (when I get the form 1 approved). What do you think?

If I was thinking along those lines I think
I might have to go with the .50 Beowulf
from Alexander Arms 540-639-8356
it is a whole lot more gun!!!!!!

I was thinking of the Beowulf also, but it seems a 400 grain bullet moving at 1800 fps is a bit more than I want. I know I can load to whatever velocity I want, so that should not be a problem. I'm not sure if I can get it with a 20" barrel that will allow attaching a two point mounted suppressor. The Alexander Arms homepage only shows ar15 uppers with 16" barrels. Are they made with longer barrels at all? The price for the upper only is right though.

ranb,
I used to read www.subguns.com a lot. From reports there and at www.ar15.com, it seems Dalphon made a lot of stuff that didn't work. It has also been reported that getting things taken care of was a problem also.

Now keep in mind I never owned anything made by them and only ever saw one of their guns in person. A local FFL friend of mine had one of their .45ACP uppers that he waited a while for and wound up never quite happy with it.

www.Tromix.com is back in business again after Tony took a break from production and is building .458SOCOMs again. That's what I want. He also makes .50AE uppers. Check with the boys at AR15.com, he has a good rep. there.

I do not know if he can fix up a barrel
to take the suppressor or not but give him a
call, he is very helpfull and seems to have an extraordinary amount of experience including
suppressors
